//THE CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL COMPANY

The internet has become such a good stage for anyone and everyone to showcase their talents and how nobodies can come so successful because of the internet, example: Justin Bieber, i remember when i use to watch him singing with you- Chris Brown. When he was young and unknown. Now hes a worldwide super star. So the other day i was watching TV and the new Google chrome advert came on, i was MESMERIZED!

Julie Deane- Cambridge satchel company

FASHION TELEGRAPH: "In 2008, Julie Deane's daughter, Emily, was being bullied at school. Wishing to improve her daughter's life, Deane found a nearby private school that promised a happier environment and an end to the bullying. Realising that this would be costly, and also that it would be unfair to send Emily without also sending her son Max, Julie wrote a list of 10 things she could do to raise the necessary funds to send both of her children to the new school. Serendipitously, her children were reading Harry Potter at the time and had both asked if they could have traditional leather satchels like those toted by the book's main character's, and thus Deane included 'make satchels' in her money-making list.
With just £600, the time limit of a six-week school summer break, no prior business knowledge, and the unerring support of her beloved mother, Freda, Julie resolved to start a business manufacturing the leather satchels, and so The Cambridge Satchel Company was born.
To say the company has been a runaway success would be an understatement. Four years on, it boast sales figures of over £1 million a month, their own factory, 65 employees and countless stylish celebrity followers, such as Alexa Chung and Zooey Deschanel. Earlier this year, Bloomingdale's New York store even dedicated all eight of their windows to showcasing the bags. Deane credits the company's initial recognition to the network of prominent fashion bloggers who championed the satchels from the very beginning, as the ad shows.
The only minor blip has been a recent legal case against their former manufacturers, who started a rival company, Zatchels, and proceeded to use the patterns supplied by Deane to produce a near-identical rival product. But even that hasn't held Julie back - she rightfully won the case, withdrew her business, bought her own factory in Leicestershire and found that many of the staff from the old manufacturers defected to come and work for her after being appalled by the behaviour of their former employer. "

Julie Deane, founder of The Cambridge Satchel Company, said: We are absolutely thrilled that we have been selected to be featured in the new Google Chrome ad. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short space of time; I can’t wait for the world to see how far we’ve come. The Internet was crucial to me when I started my business – it helped me find my first factory, leather suppliers and discover the gap in the market for satchels. Bloggers have also played a huge part in the success of the company, so the internet has been fundamental to us as a business.

 Personally i think this is such a inspirational video, that it's true that hard work pays off! And the the internet can be a brilliant stage to create what ever you like. Lots of stars have come about because of the internet. If its Youtube creating singing stars who have amazing talents, to someone having a idea promoting it on twitter getting awareness out, then giving free products to bloggers to then create the next new craze.

“I know you've heard it a thousand times before. But it's true - hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don't love something, then don't do it.”

“Nobody's a natural. You work hard to get good and then work to get better. It's hard to stay on top.”

“All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.”

"Never continue in a job you don't enjoy. If you're happy in what you're doing, you'll like yourself, you'll have inner peace. And if you have that, along with physical health, you will have had more success than you could possibly have imagined."

My mum has always told me to do a job that i love, then it wont feel like I'm working. & i think its so inspirational now with lots of celebrities becoming who they are because of the web and that anyone can do it.  I've learn t that if you want something in life you need to go get it, its not going to come to you when your sat doing nothing about it :)

On more of a fashion level how amazing are the satchels? i love the luminous ones they would go great with little dresses and shirts. I love how they are MADE IN BRITAIN, which in its self is becoming a name as people are really wanting made in Britain products. Also how it was started by a mother who needed to make money, which is this climate its so relevant about making money. It shows that you can go from nothing to something with hard work and dedication.
